She says this about her favorite part of working at Galatia Schools, "The kids & staff are the best hands down. I love greeting the kids every morning & getting daily hugs, I am blessed to be a small part of their lives daily. We have some of the best people that work at Galatia Schools I can't say enough nice things about them. I love working at Galatia." Mrs. Kim's coworker had this to say, "Kim truly is like a zookeeper! No matter what is thrown her way, she takes care of it with a smile. She somehow coordinates all our chaos and we are blessed to have her!" We asked Mrs. Kim some questions: Question: What is your favorite pastime? Response: I love hanging out with my husband Kendall & our two boys AJ & Eli. You will often find me at one of their sporting events whether it be baseball, basketball, golf or with my Cross country team. We enjoy jeep rides, boating & hanging out at home. Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why? Response: One of my favorite places I have ever visited was Uganda, Africa. I went 9yrs ago on a mission trip to visit an Orphanage. What an amazing experience, the beautiful people and the culture is something I will never forget. I sure hope to go back someday. Thank you Mrs. Kim for all your hard work!

Teacher Spotlight: Amanda Avery. Mrs. Avery has been a Jr. High Teacher in Galatia for 20 years teaching Science, ELA, Literature and Social Studies. She says, "My favorite part of working at Galatia schools is how welcoming the community and the school has been to me as well as my family. Even though I don't live in Galatia, my son Max has always attended Galatia Schools and the community has welcomed us and treated us as one of their own. I love the small school atmosphere of Galatia. Also I have made life long friends while working here." Mrs. Avery's coworker had this to say, "I've known Amanda since High School she is an exceptionally hard worker who goes above and beyond for these kids even donating her time after hours. I couldn't ask for a better friend or coworker." We asked Mrs. Avery some questions: Question: Could you imagine yourself doing something else instead of what you do now? Response: There is only one other career that I could image myself doing and that is being a meteorologist. I may never be a meteorologist but I do get to share my love of the weather with students during Science. Question: What was the first concert you ever attended? Response: My first concert was Bon Jovi and Skid Row! Thank you Mrs. Avery for all the hard work you do!

Teacher Spotlight: Rachel Fraulini. Of her 13 years in education, Mrs. Fraulini has been at Galatia for 8 years as a First Grade Teacher and most recently as a Third Grade Teacher. She says, "My favorite part about working at Galatia Grade School is the all-around atmosphere. Our school has a wonderful staff that likes to have fun and show their love for teaching daily. Our students are our first and most important priority. The parents in our community are very involved and are always more than willing to help when needed. I look forward to each day in the classroom because I get to spend it with my amazing students. No matter what kind of day we have in the classroom, I always make sure my students know that they are loved and appreciated! Above all, Galatia Schools is a wonderful place to make life long friends who will support you and lend a helping hand at the drop of a hat. I couldn't ask for a better work family!" Mrs. Fraulini's coworker had this to say, "I am very grateful to have the chance to work alongside Rachel! Her passion and support are inspirational to me. She makes me laugh, smile, and enjoy my time here at work. Chance made us colleagues, but the time we've shared has made us friends." We asked Mrs. Fraulini some questions: Question: What is the most recent book you have read? Response: The most recent book that I have read was "The Tattooist of Aushwitz". I have been interested in learning about the Holocaust since high school. It's always amazed me how one man had such a devastating impact on so many innocent men, women and children. This book does a great job describing one mans journey through the toughest time of his life. However, through all the hardships he endured, love could be found. Question: What was the first concert you ever attended? Response: I love going to concerts! I don't remember who my first concert was for sure, but I know that I saw Lady Antebellem, now Lady A, at the Williamson County Fairgrounds before they were big and famous. I even have their autograph. However, I have been to more concerts than I can count. I don't just like one genre of music though! My top 3 concerts that I have attended would probably be George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Eric Church . Thank you Mrs. Fraulini for the hard work you do!

Bus Drivers Wanted
Congratulations to the Junior Bearcats Baseball team with their victory over Z/R tonight 14-9! ⚾️ Way to go, boys!

Parents/Guardians, unfortunately we had an incredibly short resignation notice from a bus driver on Friday. We were able to get a sub driver for today only to run the route. We have worked through the weekend and today to reroute our transportation assignments to get all kids on a bus. Students on Angie's bus will now be on Sabrina's bus. Any other student who is placed with a different driver has already been contacted. Over the next couple of days please be patient with us. Bus pick up and drop off times will vary and routes will be longer starting tomorrow (Tuesday). Buses will also be at full capacity. We are working on alternative solutions to this as well. Thank you.

For our first Teacher Spotlight, we have Cheryl Disney-Walrack. Mrs. Disney-Walrack has been in education for 30 years serving in different roles as K-12 Art Teacher, 7-12 Business Teacher, and District Technology Coordinator. Mrs. Disney-Walrack could not name just one thing she loves about working in Galatia Schools: "I love the students and staff at Galatia Schools. I love the size of our school. It is nice to actually get to know most of the students! I have taught so long that I am teaching former student's children. The community is such a huge supporter of our schools and as you know it takes a village to raise these kiddos! I actually went to school in Galatia starting in Kindergarten and graduating in the same high school gym in 1985. When I started teaching I worked with my former teachers and now I am working with some of my former students. I've watched Galatia students support each other even when it isn't always easy. I've watched the community support groups that were in need. I just love this place!!! I will always be a Bearcat!" A high school teacher said this about Mrs. Disney-Walrack, "She is fiercely loyal and will always go above and beyond to help you out in a time of need. She has a genuine love for our students and school and I couldn't ask for a better coworker." We asked Mrs. Disney-Walrack a couple interesting questions: Question: Which do you prefer: flying automobiles, robot housekeepers, or lunar cities? Response: I would love to have a robot housekeeper! Obviously so I wouldn't have to do all the cleaning. Flying automobiles, well there are so many that can't drive an automobile well, so I sure wouldn't want to see them flying! Question: Would you rather be a teeny-tiny elephant or a colossal hamster? Response: I would rather be a teeny-tiny elephant because I just think about what I could do with my trunks! Even though I'd be small I'd still be sucking up water in my trunk all the time and squirting water on people . It would be like having your own built in water gun. I also think elephant tails are so cute compared to their trunks! Thank you Mrs. Disney-Walrack for all the hard work you do!
