Galatia FFA has been keeping up with a busy fall schedule, attending Leadership Training School, placing 5th in Soil Judging, and placing 6th in Ag Sales. Great job members!

Tonight's (10/19) HS volleyball game vs Agape Christian can be viewed on NFHS. Starting today, the remaining home volleyball games and basketball games will be streamed live through NFHS. Cameras have been installed at the HS and GS gyms. A monthly or annual subscription is required.

Parents/guardians that would like grandparents or siblings (18 years of age or older) to sign their student athlete out during away games and transport them back home will need to complete the attached document & turn it in to their coach or Mrs. Allen as soon as possible.

Tonight's (Oct 19) JH girls basketball game at New Simpson Hill has been cancelled and rescheduled to play at 4:00 on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 @ NSH.

New Guidance for COVID-19. If you have any questions please call the school nurse 618-297-4520.
If a student has any of these symptoms, the student(s) need to stay home: Fever (100.4°F or higher), new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of sense of taste or smell, fatigue from unknown cause, muscle or body aches from unknown cause.
A negative COVID test for the sick student only(at home tests are not accepted) will be required to return to school.
Siblings will not be excluded from school as long as the sick student is tested in 24 hrs.
Person who has COVID-like symptoms without COVID-19 testing or is COVID-19 Positive : Stay home at least ten calendar days from start of symptoms AND for 24 hours with no fever (without fever-reducing medication) AND improvement of symptoms.
Follow exclusion guidance.
Symptomatic individuals with a negative COVID 19 diagnostic test: Stay home until symptoms have improved/resolved per return-to-school criteria for diagnosed condition. Follow provider directions, recommended treatment.(Negative COVID-19 tests are valid only for 48 hours after the date of test.) Must provide the school with a copy of test results.
Symptomatic individual without a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test; Stay home for at least 10 calendar and until symptoms have improved/resolved per return-to-school criteria for diagnosed condition.
Symptom free individual who is a close contact to a confirmed or probable COVID-19 case: If fully vaccinated, no exclusion is needed. If not fully vaccinated, stay home for 7-14 calendar days after last exposure to the COVID-19 case. Local health departments must authorize early release from quarantine. Follow exclusion guidance.
Return to School Criteria- 24 Hour Rule:
• Fever: Keep your child home until Fever free WITHOUT medicine for 24 hours. Colds can be contagious for at least 48 hours. Returning to school too soon may slow recovery and make others sick.
• Vomiting or Diarrhea: Keep your child home for 24 hours after the last time he or she vomited or had diarrhea.
• Antibiotics: Keep your child home until 24 hours after the First dose of antibiotic for anything like ear infection, strep, or pneumonia.

Congratulations to Senior Zane Carlile on placing 10th in the GEC Conference meet today in Pope County.. Our season is winding down with a few races left but these kids have worked hard all season! Very proud of all of them 🏅
