Congratulations to the Galatia FFA horse judging team on placing 3rd in the SIU District 5 horse judging contest. Sierra Wilson was also 1st place individual and Jaci Wood was 14th place individual in the contest. SIU reported there were 47 schools and 408 students in attendance today. Awesome job on your hard work!

Galatia FFA is off to a busy start, competing in DuQuoin Farmyard Follies, SIU horse judging, helping with the FFA Golf Scramble, and placing 2nd in the Section 25 Agronomy contest. Good job on your hard work!

Tonight, September 14th, the HS girls Volleyball team is hosting a game against Harrisburg at 6:00 at the GHS gym. There will be no concessions during tonights volleyball game, but please come out and support the Galatia Lady Bearcats

Red & White Night will be held on November 9th and the High School Homecoming Dance will be held on November 12th.

National Beta Club motto- Let us lead by serving others. Several members of the National Beta Club are doing just that by volunteering at the car wash and bake sale taking place at the Galatia fire department. It runs until 7.

JH/HS - There will be a menu change for Wednesday, Sept 14 and Friday, Sept 16. Wednesday will be Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese. Friday will be Pulled Pork Nachos.

Galatia Basscats Brian Gibbs and Mace Ridgeway brought home 3rd place today in the Southern Illinois Bass Fishing Conference 2 day tournament at the Ohio River. Congratulations!

Trapcats Kade Shelby won 1st place in class D doubles today with a score of 94 out of 100 and 2nd place in handicap with 96 out of 100. He also won high score overall for the weekend. If you total his 3 event scores, he shot more birds than anyone else in SIYSSA at this weekend’s shoot! Way to go, Kade!

Congratulations going out to our Varsity 1 Trapcats squad of Kade Shelby, Will Quartana, Andre Williams, Braden Clemm, and Braden Casteel on their 1st place win! Kade Shelby also won 2nd place in A class with 99 out of 100. All the Trapcats did well today! Way to go, Trapcats!
