Southeastern Illinois College has announced the President’s and Vice President’s lists for the summer 2022 semester. To be eligible for the summer President’s and Vice President’s lists, students must take a total of six credit hours in addition to having a stellar grade point average.
The following students made the Southeastern Illinois College President’s List (GPA 4.00) for the summer 2022 semester.

Parents/guardians of students new to Galatia or returning students with an address change: you will need to bring 2 forms of proof of residency with you to registration tomorrow, August 4, with a physical/residential address in Galatia school district and your name(s) on document (PO Boxes cannot be used for registration purposes). Acceptable forms of proof of residency include: Tax Bill, Deed, Lease Agreement, or any Utility/Phone bill.
Reminder: tomorrow August 4, is in-person registration from 12:00pm-7:00pm in the high school cafeteria. The construction crew is still working on the roof and has part of the parking lot closed off. Therefore, parents/guardians need to park in the north parking area and enter the building through the junior high doors. August 7 is the last day for online registration.
All Galatia Schools will hold an Open House on August 11th from 5:00pm-6:00pm. Grade School Teachers will hold Informational Meetings in their classrooms at 5:30pm for parents. All students may bring in supplies to leave in their desks/lockers and meet their teachers. Class lists will be posted at registration on August 4th. If you completed online registration, you may call the grade school office next week to ask for your child's teacher.

Reminder: there will be a junior high girls basketball open gym on Tuesday, August 2nd, from 9:00am-11:00am at the FLOC. This is for any girl entering grades 5-8 interested in playing junior high girls basketball.
Parents/Guardians, Galatia School Online Registration will be open from August 1st through 7th for returning students who have not moved. In-person Registration will be held on August 4th from 12:00-7:00pm for new students, returning students who have moved, and any other returning student who prefers in-person registration. To access online registration, parents/guardians need to log into their Teacherease account. The link for registration will be at the top of the main page. Teacherease does not make the online registration platform compatible with cell phones and will need to be completed with a laptop or computer. Just a reminder that all registration fees have been waived this year! It will prompt you to proceed to the payment section but there will be no fees listed in that section for this school year, only existing balances from previous years.

The Galatia Board of Education met tonight for the regular July board meeting. We are happy to announce for the 22-23 school year, there will be no registration fees! Great news for our community.
