Teacher Spotlight: Adam Neal. Mr. Neal has been at Galatia Schools for two of his three years in education. He has served as High School Special Education Teacher, Junior Class Sponsor, Esports Coach, and Junior High Boys Basketball Assistant Coach. Mr. Neal said his favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: "the people I get to see everyday. I enjoy coming into work everyday and seeing people who I enjoy working and talking to. There are some people who don't enjoy coming to work everyday, I am happy to say that I am not one of those people. " Mr. Neal's coworkers had this to say: " Mr. Neal has really come into his own over the past few years. I like seeing students greeting him in the hallway and the daily high fives and fist bumps that occur in between class periods. " We asked him some interesting questions: Question: What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of? Response: A fun fact that few people are aware of is that I use to sing in my high school's Jazz choir, I also acted in a few school plays as well. Question: What is your favorite pastime? Response: My favorite pastime is watching movies. I have always loved watching movies, I would say my favorite type of movies are comedies. Thank you Mr. Neal for all your hard work!

I love how she goes all out for the play and makes it themed around what the play is about. She is a wonderful addition to the school and a great coworker. " We asked her some interesting questions: Question: What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of? Response: My husband, boys, and I lived in the Middle East where I taught high school art. Question: What was the first concert you ever attended? Response: Ozzfest when I was 15. Mackenzie McIntosh Favorite memory from high school? My favorite memory would definitely be Mrs. Lynch's class, honestly this could go for any class of hers I've been in. We always have fun conversations, laugh about anything and everything, and she is just the best. Plans after high school? I plan to attend SIC for Nursing and possibly Forensics Advice for future Seniors. Your senior year is going to go by fast, so join that club, make new friends, visit new places, enjoy your time with your friends. Always enjoy the little things before it's over.

Teacher Spotlight: Heather Lynch. Mrs. Lynch has worked for Galatia Schools for 12 years as High School History Teacher, Scholar Bowl Coach, Class Sponsor, and Beta Coach. She has also served as Cross Country Coach in the past. Mrs. Lynch said her favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: " I can't pick just one! This is a wonderful community with amazing kids. I am truly honored to have gotten to teach in Galatia. Galatia will always hold a special place in my heart. I have had some of the best coworkers imaginable. The faculty and staff are all passionate about their work and provide the best possible education to our students. My Scholar Bowl kids are also some of the hardest working kids around and I cannot emphasize enough just how truly proud of them that I've been over the years. The success that we have had is largely due to their commitment to the program and enthusiasm in practices. Some of my favorite memories and hardest laughs have been with those kids!" Mrs. Lynch's coworkers had this to say: " She is a teacher that wears many hats and always puts her students first. She is loved by all. " Mrs. Lynch's students had this to say: "I am going to miss Mrs. Lynch next year, she is a really good teacher." We asked her some interesting questions: Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why? Response: My favorite destination that I've visited was Pearl Harbor in 2016 for the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on our naval base. I teach about this event every year and to be able to walk around where it happened and see it for myself was very surreal. The Arizona Memorial was tragically beautiful and I was also able to tour the Mighty Mo. It's definitely worth a visit since the beginning and conclusion of WWII for the United States is in one location. Question: With which cartoon character would you most wish to swap lives? Response: If I could swap lives with a cartoon character it would be the Flintstones. Who wouldn't want a dinosaur for a pet?! I'd "yabba dabba doo" all day long if it meant I got to slide down the tail of a brontosaurus at the end of my work day. Thank you Mrs. Lynch for all your hard work!

Teacher Spotlight: Meagan Biggerstaff. Mrs. Biggerstaff has worked in education for 17 years, 15 of those yeas she has worked for Galatia Schools. She has served in various roles here: PreK, Kindergarten and 2nd grade. Mrs. Biggerstaff said her favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: " I just really enjoy coming to work in a place that feels so comfortable. The people I work with and the little people I work for are great!" Mrs. Biggerstaff's coworkers had this to say: " I am thankful I get to work with Meagan every day. She’s always willing to try new things to help the students have fun and learn too. I’m lucky to call her my coworker and friend. " We asked her some interesting questions: Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why? Response: My favorite destination would have to be New Orleans. The colorful buildings and old architecture were beautiful. Jazz music and dancing is everywhere and it is just so fun. I also really enjoy spicy food so all the Cajun seasonings were right up my alley. The area is very eclectic with so many different things to do and see. I would love to go back. Question: Which do you prefer: flying automobiles, robot housekeepers, or lunar cities? Response: The process of housekeeping does not bring me joy but a clean house does. For this reason I would prefer robot housekeepers. Especially, if she is as cool as Rosey from the Jetsons. Thank you Mrs. Biggerstaff for all your hard work!
