Congratulations to our JH Bearcats Baseball team for bringing home 4th place in the Class S State Tournament! We are so proud of you boys! Go Bearcats!

Each month, we are focusing on one social emotional characteristic. We spend time talking and learning about our topic for that month.
These students received the Anti-Bully Award for the month of August/September. Each teacher chose who they thought was the best example from their classrooms. Congratulations to these students for setting such a great example.

Galatia students and staff, show your support for the JH Baseball team tomorrow (Thursday) by wearing red or Bearcat apparel!

Parents,
This is a reminder school will dismiss at 11:30 tomorrow. The Jr. High baseball team will play at 1:00 p.m. for third place in the state tournament. We hope many of you will be at the game to support the team. An additional reminder there is no school on Friday the 7th, or Monday the 10th. Enjoy the long weekend.

Teacher Spotlight: Tim Arnold. Mr. Arnold has spent 16 years in Galatia Schools as an Ag/Shop Teacher, FFA Advisor and Bus Driver.
Mr. Arnold had this to say: I enjoy working in the school and community that I grew up in. We are fortunate to have a great group of students that make it enjoyable to come to work. With my area, I get to see a different side of students beyond the classroom. I get to introduce students to many hands on skills that can be beneficial at home and/or in a career. In shop and FFA I enjoy seeing students grow in their abilities throughout their high school career, pushing them outside their comfort zones and watching them succeed in things that they never thought they could do. I am also fortunate to work with staff who care about the students and a very supportive administration. Students in our small school benefit in many ways from smaller class sizes that allow them to get more one on one instruction to the numerous opportunities that exist academically and extracurricular. Galatia is a tight knit community, and it is great to be a part of it."
Mr. Arnold's coworker had this to say, "He selflessly devotes himself to the success of his students and the FFA organization. There's a reason that Galatia's FFA program is consistently one of the best programs in Section 25. His commitment goes year round and he never fails to help those in need; whether students or faculty. His humility and genuine love of education makes him one of the greatest attributes of Galatia High School."
We asked him some interesting questions:
Question: What is your favorite pastime?
Response: Camping and spending time with family.
Question: Could you imagine yourself doing something else instead of what you do now?
Response: This is the job that I enjoy. I have worked in a few different occupations and this is the most challenging and rewarding. I really would miss the students if I were to do something else.
Thank you Mr. Arnold for all your hard work!

It’s not over until it’s over! Our Junior Bearcats took a tough loss tonight…….BUT they will still play for 3rd place in the Class S State tournament on Thursday. We are STILL super proud of you boys! We encourage anyone who can to go and cheer them on! The game is on Thursday in Coulterville at 1:00pm. Come out and support these boys! ⚾️⚾️⚾️ Proud to be a Bearcat!

We had a blast on our field. Thank you to all the parents that went and to PTO for paying part of our way to go. PTO we really appreciate all you do for our school.

8th graders are selling RADA Cutlery for their 8th grade trip. Please see an eighth grader if you want to order.

Our Jr. High baseball team will play in the state semi-final game Tuesday at 3:00 in Coulterville. Depending on the outcome of that game, they will then play at either 1:00 or 3:00 on Thursday. We hope you will go and support our Jr. High baseball team on their way to the state title. On Tuesday, any student can sign out after 12:30 to attend the game. Students may be signed out at school to a parent/guardian/emergency contact on file. As long as students sign in on the sheet at the ticket table at the game as proof they attended the game, the absence will not count against them (treated like a field trip). Classwork must be made up. On Thursday, we will have an 11:30 dismissal for staff and students to attend the game. Go Bearcats!

Junior Bearcats advance at State with an 8-3 win over Lick Creek today! Congratulations, boys! We are so proud of you! 👏🏻⚾️👏🏻

Best of luck to the Jr. High Bearcats at State tomorrow. GGS sent them out in style with lots of signs & chants! Let’s go Cats! We are proud of you!
