Parents/Guardians: Just a friendly reminder we have a 2pm dismissal tomorrow October 12.

Staff Spotlight: Michele Hankins. Michele has spent 40+ years in the accounting field. Four of those years she has held the position of Bookkeeper/Treasurer for Galatia Schools.
Michele had this to say: "My favorite part of working at Galatia is working with dedicated School Board Members, Administrators, Teachers, and Staff. I'm a graduate from Galatia along with my husband and girls. During Covid I saw how much our district truly cared about our students going above and beyond their normal duties. I love the work environment at Galatia CUSD #1."
Michele's coworkers had this to say: "Michele is the lady behind the scenes that gets everything done but never gets any recognition. We are blessed to have her here. She is an amazing asset to our school system."
We have all heard her signature line at one time or another "That's not in the budget!"
We asked her some interesting questions:
Question: What is your favorite pastime?
Response: Spending time with my Grandchildren is my favorite pastime.
Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why?
Response: Any beach in Florida. I love just sitting in the warm sun, looking at the endless ocean, and listening to the waves crashing on the beach.
Thank you Michele for all your hard work!

In light of recent JH/HS boy's bathroom activity, Administration and the Board of Education wants to remind students and parents/guardians that destruction of school property is a serious offense. Students who vandalize school property will face disciplinary action which may include suspensions and restitution. Please help us communicate this message with your child, specifically if you are the parents/guardian of a JH and HS boy. Thank you.
