Teacher Spotlight: Erica Mapps. Mrs. Mapps has taught for nine years. Eight of those years have been at Galatia Grade School as a 5th and now 3rd grade teacher. She has also served as JH Cheerleading Coach.
Mrs. Mapps had this to say about working for Galatia Schools: "My favorite part about working in Galatia are the ones I get to spend my time with daily. The staff and students here are truly amazing! I have always loved small town vibes, but Galatia is so much more. I have not only gained a second home, I’ve gained friendships that will last a lifetime!"
Mrs. Mapps coworkers had this to say: "Mrs. Mapps always has an upbeat and energetic personality that quickly rubs off on students and staff. She also has an exceptional work ethic and incredible organizational skills that are truly inspiring." "She always has a smile and a positive attitude which is a joy in the workplace and so important for the students."
We asked her some interesting questions:
Question: Where on earth are you hoping to travel next?
Response: I have always enjoyed traveling, and hope to one day tour Italy!!
Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why?
Response: My favorite destination so far has been Hawaii. As breath taking as its scenery is, the reason for my visit was to tour Pearl Harbor and see the USS Arizona Memorial. During this trip, I did get to see where one of my favorite movies was filmed, Jurassic Park!
Thank you Mrs. Mapps for all your hard work!
