Junior high and high school students may pick up chrome books at the high school this week. If you need a different time after 3 please contact the school to make different arrangements. A parent signature is required on the Chromebook Insurance and Chromebook Agreement documents. The Chromebook insurance is $25 total for the school year.

Galatia Schools will be on remote learning for the week following Thanksgiving Break, November 30th through Friday December 4th. This is due to the continued high positivity rate, number of quarantined students, and staff shortages. Galatia school district will distribute ChromeBooks to students in first grade through High School starting on Monday November 30th between the hours of 8:00am-3:00pm. Parents or legal guardians will need to sign the paperwork to pick up the devices. If a parent or legal guardian is not available during these hours next week, the forms will be available on the district website. These forms can be printed/signed at home and sent with another adult with the child to pick up the device. Parents can elect to take an insurance policy for $25 that covers most accidents with the exception of lost or stolen devices. Please make sure you log in and do attendance during remote learning.

Good afternoon, parents! Just a reminder, if you'd like to have a meal delivered to your home during remote learning, please contact your student's school office. Also, we are still offering enrollment in our weekend meal program by the Tri-state Food Bank. Parents and students are able to view Q2 midterm grades on Teacherease. If a student currently has a D or F in any course a progress report will be mailed home. If you have any questions please call 297-4199.
Due to the number of positive cases, the number of quarantined students and difficulty staffing buildings, Galatia School District will be moving to remote learning for the remaining days before Thanksgiving Break starting tomorrow, November 19th, 2020. We will reevaluate next week and determine if we can responsibly open after Thanksgiving Break. If anyone in your household under the age of 18 would like for us to deliver a meal on Thursday, Friday, Monday or Tuesday please call the school and let me know.
Finally, the dental safari van scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled.

The 2nd grade classes learned all about Veterans Day this week. They learned about why we celebrate Veterans Day and wrote poems about heroes. To all the veterans, we thank you for your service and your sacrifices! 🇺🇸

A Balfour representative will be here on Thursday, Nov 12 to take orders for letterman jackets and Senior Cap & Gowns. Students may also discuss classring orders with him that day. Information about all these items was placed on the website and facebook yesterday.
Attached is the 2020-2021 Balfour Letter Jacket brochure, price sheet and order form. Our Balfour representative will be at GHS on Thursday, November 12th so that students can try on the letter jacket sizers and place their jacket orders (letter jackets cannot be ordered online). A $100 down payment or payment in full is required on order day. If you have an award letter that you would like sewn on your jacket, Balfour will do so at NO CHARGE if you turn in your letter when you place your order on November 12th.
