Congratulations to senior Hannah Jackson in being voted into the IHSSBCA All-Sectional Scholastic Bowl team for 2020! In addition, Hannah received the 4th highest ranking. These are awards of recognition for the most skilled and enthusiastic players in IHSA Scholastic Bowl. Players are nominated by their coach and then high school coaches from the Sectional submit a ranking of all nominated players. The top 12 are named to the All-Sectional Team and the top 6 are advanced to All-State consideration. Way to go, Hannah!

UPDATE: The HS Softball parent-player meeting has been moved to Tuesday, March 3 @ 5:00 in the HS cafeteria.
ATTENTION HS BB/SB: On Monday, March 2, there will be a BB player-parent meeting @ 5:00 and SB player-parent meeting @ 6:00. Both meetings will be held in the HS gym. Current physicals, athletic agreements & waivers must be on file prior to first practice.
Contest is open to SIC students and high school students in White, Gallatin and Saline counties. Deadline is March 31, 2020.

5th grade students have been studying buoyancy. They tested their knowledge today by building aluminum foil boats. They tested their designs by adding weight to see if they would sink!

A good turnout for Tractor Tuesday. FFA members enjoyed driving their tractors to school and students were able to learn about the tractors and safety, especially blind spots on big machinery.
Galatia FFA members recently competed in the Section 25 public speaking CDE. They placed 2nd as a team. Hannah moves on to compete at district in Varsity prepared and Kayleigh moves on to compete at district in creed speaking.
