The HS girls and boys basketball games at Egyptian on Saturday, 2/5 have been cancelled.

Parents Due to the incoming winter weather, Galatia Schools will dismiss at 2:00 today. This will allow busses and students to get home before accumulation starts later this afternoon. All activities for tonight including ball games and practices will also be cancelled. Thanks

Tonight’s (2/2) HS girls basketball GEC tourney game has been rescheduled to Monday, 2/7 @ Gallatin Co, 6:15 start. Also, tonight’s JH VB game has been rescheduled to Friday, 2/25 @ GGS, 4:30 varsity only game.

Parents, We are watching the winter storm moving into our area tomorrow. We will make a determination tomorrow morning if an early dismissal is needed. Please have a plan in place in the event we need to move dismissal times up. We will post any changes on Facebook, the school app, and will send an all call. Thanks

The JH volleyball game vs Akin on 2/2 has been moved to 4:30 @ GGS, varsity only. The HS girls basketball 1st place GEC game vs Gallatin Co @ Gallatin Co will start @ 5:00 on Wednesday, 2/2. If the HS girls GEC game gets cancelled due to inclement weather, the make up date is scheduled for Monday, 2/7.

The 2nd grade classes worked on building Lego towers for a fun STEM project today. They had to build a tower as a team and draw a picture of their tower.

Class of 2022 and Parents: The FAFSA completion is a graduation requirement. In addition, if a student receives an institutional scholarship they may need to have it on file before funds are applied to their account. Funds do run out and if a student is eligible for those funds, we want them to receive them. Please email Mrs. Love if you would like assistance with completing the FAFSA. Mrs. Love runs a report once a week to see who is complete. If you are unsure if the FAFSA is complete, please email, klove@galatiak12.org, or call 618-297-4199.

Stacy’s bus route will run AM and PM routes on Friday, January 28. There will be a new substitute bus driver, so pick up and drop off times may be delayed.

Stacy’s afternoon bus route will be canceled on Thursday, January 27. We are unsure about her route on Friday but will send out an all call tomorrow once we have more information.

The Galatia Grade School Spelling Bee held on January 26, 2022 was a great success. After 18 rounds, Logan Byron, 6th grade, was declared the champion, with 5th grader Garrett Arnold as Runner Up. Congratulations to all the contestants who successfully competed in their classrooms to participate in today’s bee! Full results are posted in the pictures.
