Advice for future Seniors.
The people who tell you these are the best years of your life are both right and wrong. Hold on to your childhood as long as you can because when it’s gone, it’s gone. However, you can find peace knowing the best is yet to come.

Attention: Regional quarterfinals are tomorrow, 5/15 for both baseball and softball. the Galatia-Thompsonville baseball quarterfinal will be held at home at GHS at 4:30. The softball quarterfinal game that was supposed to be held at Gallatin County at 4:30 has been rained out due to poor field conditions. We are in hopes of being able to still play that game tomorrow, and move it to a home game rather than an away game. As of right now, that is undetermined, and dependent on GHS field conditions. We will let you know as soon as we know. Thanks
The Junior High Sports Banquet will be Tuesday, May 16. If you would like dinner tickets, they are $15 and can be purchased from any HS softball player. Dinner will be in the high school cafeteria starting at 5:00pm and awards will begin at 6:00pm in the gym.

Teacher Spotlight: Thomas Morgan. Mr. Morgan has been at Galatia Schools for two of his five years in education. He has served as a HS Math/Physics Teacher, Class Sponsor, and Chess Club Sponsor.
Mr. Morgan said his favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: "The camaraderie at small schools is second-to-none. The staff is truly incredible. I've also had some of the most memorable experiences of my career here. Everyone's so wholesome and supportive."
Mr. Morgan's coworkers had this to say: " Mr. Morgan has an amazing rapport with his students. The students gravitate to him naturally and it is such a joy to see the excitement for math that he brings out of them. His intelligence is only exceeded by his humility. I also greatly appreciate his sense of humor too! I really hold him in high regard."
We asked him some interesting questions:
Question: Could you imagine yourself doing something else instead of what you do now?
Response: I'm a big fan of the ocean and its wildlife--especially predators like sharks. If I didn't pursue teaching, I think I'd definitely be some variation of marine biologist.
Question: With which cartoon character would you most wish to swap lives?
Response: I really admire Wile E. Coyote's patience, diligence, intelligence, and dedication. He has some really unfortunate luck, but he perseveres. I think if I had to swap lives, I'd be Wile E. Coyote. Besides that, swapping lives means someone has to take my place and I think he'd make an excellent math teacher since he's a genius.
Thank you Mr. Morgan for all your hard work!

Teacher Spotlight: Melanie Walters. Mrs. Walters has been in Galatia Schools for one of her three years in education. She has served as a JH Special Education Teacher and Junior Class Sponsor.
Mrs. Walters said her favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: "It's hard to pick just one thing. I love getting to make impact in my students lives. The students are amazing and make everyday enjoyable."
Mrs. Walters' coworkers had this to say: " I can see every day that Mrs. Walters cares about her students whether they are the junior high students she sees everyday, or the Junior class she has helped raise more money then they have ever had. She walks into the building everyday making sure she goes beyond what is asked of her. In general, she is a great teacher and we are lucky to have her at Galatia "
We asked her some interesting questions:
Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why?
Response: The Bahama's, this is because, I was able to be there with my family and had the best time on the beach.
Question: One thing you would tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?
Response: Don't give up on your dream of being a teacher. You will get there and you will love it. The students need you and they will keep you smiling.
Thank you Mrs. Walters for all your hard work!

Question: What was the first concert you ever attended?
Response: MC Hammer & Boys to Men (2 legit to quit!!)
Question: What would you eat if you had to eat only one meal every day for the rest of your life?
