Below is the jh baseball regional bracket. Our boys have earned the #1 seed! We will host Joppa this Friday (9/20) at 4:00 in the first round. Second and third round games would also be at Galatia if the team advances. Good luck boys!

Come out this afternoon to support our Jr. Bearcats and celebrate our new baseball and softball facilities! Games start at 4:30 with 8th grade recognition directly before game time. Then following the games we will have our field and field lighting dedication ceremony with many other activities.

The last regularly scheduled home junior high softball and baseball games are Monday (9/16). We will use this opportunity to celebrate our 8th grade players before the games. We are also excited to announce that following the games, we will have a field and field lighting dedication ceremony! There will be many other activities to go along with this ceremony. More details to follow.

Shout out to Galatia Cross Country as they ran at Herrin Park today. Each runner improved their time & lots of personal records were made. Bailey Downing finished 7th while Kael Krelo finished 27th for the guys! Way to GO everyone, we are so proud of you!! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Galatia FFA members attended the FFA Chapter Officer Leadership Training and Greenhand Conference at SIU where they learned more about how to perform their officer duties and interacted with around 600 other FFA members in team building activities.

For any girls interested in junior high basketball this year, there will be open gym on the following dates/times. 9/7, 9/14, and 9/28. These will be from 10:00-12:00 at the grade school gym.

Parents/guardians, the lockdown alarm was inadvertently activated this afternoon during dismissal. All staff and students did an excellent job following the lockdown protocol. Police and administration acted quickly to clear this as an accidental alarm. We apologize for the delay in dismissal but good job Bearcats on such a quick response.

Congratulations to the Galatia FFA Chapter on winning the Farmyard Follies at the DuQuoin State Fair! 31 Galatia FFA members competed in 8 different areas against 40 other schools to land 1st place overall. Great job team!

I'm sure you all have been watching the work going on at the baseball and softball fields. We are excited to announce that our lights are now functional at both fields! We will be turning the lights on this evening from about 7:30-10:00 for anyone that would like to drive by for a preview. We will then have a formal lighting ceremony at the fields at a later date this fall.
