Congratulations to all of our students for being selected for the SEL Award for March! Our theme was "COURAGE". These students demonstrate courage by standing up for others and being great leaders in our school.

Galatia Grade School had a busy day yesterday.. several students enjoyed the Paragon Rolling Video Van for Selling so many items in Fall fundraiser. They all had a blast..

Teacher Spotlight: Meagan Biggerstaff. Mrs. Biggerstaff has worked in education for 17 years, 15 of those yeas she has worked for Galatia Schools. She has served in various roles here: PreK, Kindergarten and 2nd grade.
Mrs. Biggerstaff said her favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: " I just really enjoy coming to work in a place that feels so comfortable. The people I work with and the little people I work for are great!"
Mrs. Biggerstaff's coworkers had this to say: " I am thankful I get to work with Meagan every day. She’s always willing to try new things to help the students have fun and learn too. I’m lucky to call her my coworker and friend. "
We asked her some interesting questions:
Question: Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why?
Response: My favorite destination would have to be New Orleans. The colorful buildings and old architecture were beautiful. Jazz music and dancing is everywhere and it is just so fun. I also really enjoy spicy food so all the Cajun seasonings were right up my alley. The area is very eclectic with so many different things to do and see. I would love to go back.
Question: Which do you prefer: flying automobiles, robot housekeepers, or lunar cities?
Response: The process of housekeeping does not bring me joy but a clean house does. For this reason I would prefer robot housekeepers. Especially, if she is as cool as Rosey from the Jetsons.
Thank you Mrs. Biggerstaff for all your hard work!

GHS Art students competed in the Carmi/White County Invitational Art Show and visited New Harmony, IN. Isabel Quartana won First place in painting and sculpture as well as Best of Category in sculpture. Hannah Carlton won Third place in mixed media category. Congrats to these two artists!

Staff Spotlight: Tamara Neumann. Tamara has been the school nurse for the district for a total of seven years. She has also served as a cheerleading sponsor in the past.
Tamara said her favorite part about working at Galatia Schools is: "the kids and the co-workers."
Tamara's coworkers had this to say: "Tammy always goes above & beyond to help the kids, she loves to laugh & joke with them. She truly cares about the students & staff at Galatia. We are thankful to have her. "
We asked her some interesting questions:
Question: What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?
Response: I have 3 snakes, 2 horses, 2 dogs, and 9 cats. At one time I had 15 dogs, a raccoon and a opossum. I love animals!
Question: What was the first concert you ever attended?
Response: I grew up in STL and won tickets to a KISS concert from KSHE95. I have now seen them 16 times.
Thank you Tammy for all your hard work!

Bite off more than you can chew. You will adapt to the work load and begin to learn traits of hard work. Your circle will get smaller and smaller. You cannot blame others for their life choices and how they grow as a person, worry about yourself and that's it.
