
Galatia FFA members competed in the District 5 FFA Horse Judging Contest today. The JV team placed 1st out of 46 teams and Connor Graham placed 1st out of 158 JV individuals. Great job teams!


Some of our high school students were able to attend the Southern Illinois Mining Institute in Marion this week. They had the opportunity to observe a mine rescue competition, visit with various exhibit booths, and participate in a underground mine simulator.

Congratulations to the Basscats! They had a 3rd place finish at Lake of Egypt for the Bass Cats Invitational this past weekend!


Big day for Galatia Cross Country team. We ran in the Dave Gray invite at Norris City. Bailey Downing finished in 1st place, Haleigh Oslay finished in 8th. Every team member ran a personal best today. I am so proud of all of them, Hard work is paying off. 🏃♀️🏃♂️

For any 5th-8th grade girls interested in playing basketball, the first practice will be Monday, September 25th from 5:30-7:30 at the grade school.

Today's junior high softball and baseball games are both in Thompsonville at 4:30. Softball will play at the school. Baseball will play at the field on 149 (towards West Frankfort). Thanks!

For all students currently signed up for tutoring, classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45pm until 4:15pm this week. We will assign a tutor based on needs and provide a regular schedule for the following weeks.

Parents/Guardians: Starting this week the JH/HS will be offering Math and English tutoring after school. Mr. Morgan will be offering math tutoring on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00 in his classroom. Mr. Jones will be offering English tutoring on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 in his classroom. This is open to any Galatia junior high or high school student. Students do not have to sign up or attend every week. Students just need to show up at 3:00 on the designated days to receive additional support.

Several of the grade school classrooms adopt cows from the STL Dairy Council every year. Today Louise and her Mobile Dairy Classroom came to teach us a little about dairy farming.
