BUS DRIVER NEEDED
Galatia CUSD #1 is taking applications for full time bus driver, starting pay $17.00/hr with full benefit package that includes health/life insurance, personal and sick days. Individuals must have a valid school bus driver's license with air brakes or be willing to get a school bus license.

Fridays will be Remote Learning days starting this week. We will be counting these days as instructional days so we must take attendance and have lessons/work for you. You must log in and complete the Google Form to take attendance on Fridays by noon or call into the school by noon. The Google Form can be found on the school website under Remote Learning or posted in your Google Classrooms. You only have to mark the form one time for the day. If you don’t submit the form before noon or call in before noon you will be marked absent for the day. The Remote Learning work for your classes on Friday will be posted on Google Classroom, however you can request a paper copy from your teacher by Thursday if you do not have internet access or a device to view Google Classroom.
We will be doing lunch delivery on Fridays. If you want a meal delivered this must be turned into the office Monday-Thursday each week.
JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! Picture day has been moved to Thursday, September 3rd, due to remote learning days starting this Friday. REMOTE LEARNING STUDENTS: We still need your picture for the yearbook. Please contact Ms. Harbin at mharbin@galatiak12.org to make an appointment between 2-3 pm on the 3rd. You must wear a mask in the building and you must enter alone.

If you do not know yet our district has changed student management programs. We are preparing to offer our parents/guardians the ability to look at grades online again. If you would like to do this please fill out the form at https://forms.gle/CZijRFA57f36dZAq8
You will receive an email invitation in about a week that will explain what you need to do to view grades. This is not for students, we will take care of students logging in with their school emails.

JH baseball/softball games scheduled for Sept 9 vs Hardin Co have been cancelled.
Fall picture day will be Friday, September 4, for all Grade School students. This will include those students in Pre-K. Remote learning students are welcome to come in from 2:00 -3:15 p.m. to have their picture made. Picture order forms are going home today.
Galatia HS students interested in joining the 2020-21 Bass Fishing team needs to sign up in the office by Wednesday, August 26.
Kindergarten students need a Physical exam, proof of immunizations, eye exam and dental exam.2nd grade students need a dental exam. 6th Grade students need a physical exam, proof of immunizations and dental exam. 9th grade students need a physical exam and dental exam. 12th grade student need proof of 2nd Meningococcal vaccine. The due dates have been extended to October 15th except dental. The dental exams are due by May 15th. All sports physicals are due prior to the start of practice. If you have any questions please contact the school nurse.
Just a reminder for Remote Learning students: You must mark "In Attendance" on the Remote Learning Attendance Form each school day by noon. JH/HS remote learning students, you only have to do this one time a day, not for each class period. In-person learning students do not have to fill this form out daily while school is in session.
In addition to filling out the Remote Learning Attendance form, remote learners must check their Google Classroom daily for their assignments. Some classes have assignments that need to be done that day (classes that have daily in-class assignments) so please check early in the day.
Important Announcement for Seniors
Seniors will be taking the SAT on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Galatia High School.
Seniors may want to take the SAT in addition to the day Galatia is offering in order to practice or improve their SAT score. Any senior that is interested in taking the SAT at another facility (SIUC, SIUE, etc) either BEFORE or AFTER for FREE may see Mrs. Love for a voucher. Testing dates are on Saturdays.
Once a student is given a voucher number they will need to sign up for the SAT at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat?excmpid=VT-00051 .
Mrs. Love will be able to assist with SAT registration, if needed.

Galatia Jr/Sr High School. Fall pictures will be Friday, September 4th, starting at 7:45 am. Order forms will be online as well as sent home with your student.
