All textbooks that are still out need to be turned in at the high school tomorrow, May 26 or Wednesday May 27th. Please make sure your name is in the book so we know who turned it in. Thank you.

Graduation has been a topic of discussion since the beginning of the mandated school closing. We had moved the graduation date to June 19th in hopes to have a traditional in-person graduation. With the re-opening phases of the state, there is no way we can have a gathering for graduation on June 19th. We do not feel pushing the date back any further is the best move. There are several seniors who will be leaving for the Armed Forces, students moving for college/jobs, and family plans will become more complicated as summer goes on.
Having said all this, we have researched what other schools have done or are doing for graduation. We have decided to have a walk-through graduation where each senior and 8th grader will have an individually scheduled time to come to the school and walk across the stage. We will video each student doing this and put each clip together as one production. There will be a digital format of the ceremony available at a date TBD. Each student’s parents or legal guardian ONLY may enter with the student to watch them walk across the stage. There will also be a spot set up in the gym for parents or legal guardian to take a picture of their graduate.
The scheduled date for seniors to have this walk-through graduation is Tuesday, May 26th from 2 PM to 8 PM and eighth graders is Wednesday, May 27th from 4 PM to 8 PM. Senior and 8th grade parents will receive a call this week with their scheduled time. Please arrive no more than five minutes before your scheduled time. When you arrive at the school, remain in your vehicle until a staff member lets you know we are ready for you. You will enter the south doors of the high school and proceed into the gym. Instructions for how to cross the stage, how to get your diploma, where to stop for a picture, etc. will be given to you upon arrival in the gym. When you’re finished, you will exit the main entrance. We ask that you do not congregate with others in the parking lot.
We know this is not the traditional graduation we had all hoped for, however, we feel this is our best option to include all seniors and 8th graders in a graduation ceremony and also follow the guidelines set forth by this state. We appreciate your patience with us as we have and continue to work through this process. Thank you.

SIU Summer Camp registration is now open if you are interested in signing your kids up!

Parents, if you have not turned in packets of work they were due Friday. Starting this week teachers will be evaluating final packets. After completion, we will determine awards for the year and be sending those home in the mail. Thanks for all the great work this year.

Seniors, Legence Bank wants to congratulate you!
