Our district is pairing up with the Harrisburg School District to participate in the Weekend Backpack Food for Kids Program through the Tri-State food bank. Students were given a packet regarding the program today. Every student is eligible. All you need to do is complete the form attached to the letter and sign the bottom.NO OTHER DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED. If we do not have a signed form for your child, they cannot receive the bag of food. The bags will be handed out on Thursdays. They will include 16 items; 4 entrees, 4 fruit cups, 2 cereals, 2 juices, 2 milks and 2 snacks. All items are shelf stable. If you have any questions, please call your child's school office. This message is for seniors and parents of seniors: Starting in 2020-21 any senior attending a public Illinois high school will have to complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA in order to receive a high school diploma. Information has been posted on the Galatia Web Page under Guidance. Mrs. Love is more than happy to help with completing the FAFSA.

Sophomore class parents if you child sold butter braids, they will be delivered to the school Wednesday the 21st at the end of the day. butter braids will need to be put back in a freezer as soon as possible. Please plan for the delivery coming up, and if you have any questions email or call Mrs. Fry at the high school.

Paragon Fundraiser forms are due tomorrow. Please turn them into Ms. Kim at the Grade School.

Picture day information


Picture Retakes will be Tuesday, October 20, at the Grade School. If you are a remote learner needing your picture taken, please contact Mrs. Mayberry for available times.


The much anticipated Terri Lyn fundraiser will start Monday, October 19th. Please contact a senior at GHS to place an order. Orders are due by Friday, October 30th in order to have delivery before Thanksgiving.

Jr High/High School Students: Lifetouch will be set up at 8am on Tuesday, October 20th for retakes AND for those who missed the original picture day.

Congratulations to Abby Howard and Zane Carlile for medaling at the GEC Conference cross country meet today at Pope Co. Abby was 4th and Zane finished 10th.


Guidance for sick students


Your Future Starts here! Wear your Bearcat gear or school colors on Wednesday Oct 14th!

JH/HS parents & guardians: parent-teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, 10/20 from 3:30-7:00 and Thursday, 10/22 from 3:30-6:30. Contact the HS office or your child’s teacher to set up appointments by 10/19.

Seniors will be taking the SAT Wednesday, October 14th. All seniors will need to arrive at the school by 8AM, be sure to eat breakfast before arriving- only snacks will be provided. All seniors will ride the bus to the FLOC together. Seniors will be able to leave after the completion of the SAT around 1PM, if they have a signed permission slip or sign out for COOP.
