Tomorrow’s meeting for cross country has not been cancelled due to the school closing. It will be at 3:00 in Mrs. Lynch’s room.

Due to plumbing issues there will be no school tomorrow August 17th. Staff and Teachers should report for a work day. Please share.

There will be a meeting after school at 3:00 on Monday for anybody interested in running Cross Country this year. Mrs. Lynch will go over IHSA changes and expectations for the season. Students will need physicals in order to start practices.

School dismissal on Friday, August 14th is at 11:30.

Reminder: The grade school and JH/HS doors will not open until 7:45am in the mornings. Please do not send your child to the doors before then. Class/instruction starts at 8:15 am.

Attached is the link for remote learning students to mark that they are in attendance every day. This must be done by noon every school day to be counted as in attendance.

All JH and HS students: There will be multiple entries set up for arrival to school each day. All JH drop offs, JH walkers, and JH bus riders will enter through the JH doors on the North side of the building. All HS drop offs, HS drivers, and HS walkers will enter the main front doors. All HS bus riders will enter through the south door by the baseball/softball fields. Every student must wear a mask on the bus and to enter the building and will have their temperature taken upon arrival.

Please read the following updates:
It is advised that your child bring one or two screw top water bottles to school daily. We will have water jugs for teachers to fill up students' water bottles but following ISBE and IDPH guidance, the water fountains will be inaccessible.
Parents of students who are remote learning: If you are wanting to pick up meals for your child please call daily by 8:30 am to place an order. If you have more than one child in multiple buildings you may call just one of the buildings.
Parents of JH and HS students remote learning. If you were unable to attend Open House to pick up your child’s schedule you may come to the high school before 3:00pm today to pick up the schedule.

JH baseball/softball spectators: IDPH has made it mandatory that all spectators wear face coverings.

Just a reminder that everyone attending open house must wear a mask. Please only one parent/guardian per student.

Open House Information

We are putting together a Virtual Open House for parents who are unable attend in-person next week. The plan for this is to present the same information about using Google Classroom and prepare parents for remote learning as the teachers will do for Open House next week. If you have specific questions for your child's teacher you can contact them to set up a phone conference or other alternative meeting next week. If you have more than one child in the district you can attend any one of your children's sessions at Open House and contact the other teachers with any specific questions when the session is over or through email.

High school supplies are listed on the course syllabus for each class, given out the first day of school.

Galatia schools are in the process of transitioning our student management system from INOW to Teacherease. This week we were able to input students into the new system. Class lists for the grade school and schedules for JH/HS students will be ready very soon for those students who have registration papers turned in. We will post more information on how those lists and schedules will be dispersed when they are ready. We will have information sheets available at Open House with login information for parents.
