
The deadline is approaching fast. Reminder: Students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th grades need a Health exam and updated vaccines. Kindergarten students also need a vision exam. Students entering the 12th grade need a second Meningococcal vaccine. Students need these items turned in by October 15th to prevent being excluded from school. All students who transferred from out of state need a Health exam, eye exam and proof of updated vaccines due 30 days from enrollment. If you have any questions please contact the school nurse.

The GS gym renovation is now complete! New bleachers, lighting & basketball goals were recently installed to finish off the project!!




The PTO Paragon Fundraiser begins today, October 5, and lasts through Monday, October 19. Forms are being sent home with Kindergarten - 6th Grade students today.


October 13-16 will be College and Career Week at Galatia High School. All high school students are encouraged to participate! High students will be able to win prizes Tuesday - Friday! Everyday that a hs student participates in Spirit Wear will earn an entry for a $25 gift card.

We are pleased to announce students will be returning to in-person learning on October 5th, 2020. We will return to the same schedule we left on: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 to 2:00 with Friday being a full remote learning day. We look forward to seeing our students back on Monday.

SENIORS: The SAT will be given on Oct 14th. Everyone will need to be present at the high school by 8AM that morning. We will transport everyone to the FLOC via bus. The SAT should be complete around 1PM and students may leave afterwards IF they have a signed permission slip. Please turn the permission slip in before test day.

After consulting with the Egyptian Health Department and looking at the increased number of positive Covid 19 cases in Saline County, the Galatia CUSD #1 will continue to be on remote learning for the week of September 28th. We anticipate returning to in school learning on Oct 5th.

Public Act 101-0642 makes Nov. 3, 2020 “2020 General Election Day” a legal school holiday. There will be no school on Nov. 3, 2020.

The state of Illinois requires that students entering Pre-K for the first time receive a complete physical exam, lead test and updated immunizations. This needs to be turned in by October 15th or student may be excluded from school. If you have any questions please call the school nurse.

In the Jr/Sr High parking lot it is labeled as Galatia School WiFi (no underscores).
In the Grade School parking lot it is labeled as Galatia Guest WIFI
You can pull up to either school and work on the wifi at any time.

The SIJHSAA Baseball Regional Bracket is attached below. The Bearcats are scheduled to play 9/28 vs. Unity Christian @ Herrin Park Diamond #1, 4:30 start.

2019-2020 Junior High and Grade School Yearbooks have arrived and will be sent home once we return to in-person learning. If you did not purchase a yearbook in the spring and would like one, please fill out the attached form. The cost is $12. Once payment is received in the Grade School office, a yearbook will be sent home.

Attached is the SIJHSAA 2020 Softball Regional Bracket. All games will be played at the top seed, bottom seed is the visiting team. Game times are at 4:30, except for 9/28 @ New Simpson Hill, that game will begin at 4:00.

They also have new noncompetitive scholarships, that if you meet the GPA requirement, you automatically qualify to receive.. https://scholarships.siu.edu/types/freshmen/
SIUC now has Saluki Commitment which guarantees that tuition and mandatory fees will be covered by the college if certain requirements are met. This is a scholarship for first time freshmen, with a 2.75/4.0 GPA, and an annual family income of $63,575 or less.
