HS Baseball/softball practices are cancelled for today, 4/13.

Parents, Due to impending dangerous weather conditions, we will dismiss starting at 1:30 today. This should give our busses time to run their routes and get back safely before the weather moves into our area. Additionally, we will open up the grade school building starting at 2:30 for community members who want to seek shelter. Please call your child’s school with any questions.

Parents, We are closely watching the forecast for tomorrow afternoon. At this time it is difficult to determine when storms may hit, but the area has been upgraded to a level 4 warning. As we get into tomorrow and have a better idea of timing, we may dismiss early to allow busses to safely transport students home and get back to school. We will keep everyone up to date as the forecast becomes clearer.

Keep Going Keep Growing AND …Keep Glowing! Students are excited to see the school tower garden in use. Can you guess what plants we are growing? Thank you to a few parents that helped get the grant for this, and supplied some plants. Also to Saline County Farm Bureau Ag in the classroom Plant Grant for helping stock our tower garden with new plants.

Today's (4/12) SB/BB games vs Pope Co have been rescheduled to Friday, 4/15. Softball will play @ 12:00, baseball game will follow.

Today’s (4/11) Baseball game at GHS has been cancelled.

On Wednesday, April 13 the Junior class will be taking the SAT, and the Sophomore and Freshman classes will take the PSAT. It is extremely important that the students are present and that they arrive at Galatia High School by 8 AM. Testing sessions will begin between 8:15-8:30 AM, no one is permitted in the testing room once testing has started. Juniors will complete their SAT around 1 PM unless accommodations have been approved for an extended time. Juniors will be able to leave school AFTER testing is completed if you give your child permission to leave early. Otherwise, your student will not be permitted to leave early. JH and HS Parents- Spring Picture Proofs were sent home today.

The HS baseball game on 4/22 @ Pope Co will be played at Rent One Park, 4:30 start (SB will still travel to Pope Co). The HS SB game vs Hardin Co on 4/27 will be played at Rent One Park, 4:30 start (BB will still host HC @ GHS). Be sure to come out & show support for our Galatia-Thompsonville Bearcats!

In an effort to attract new people, the IHSA is offering their first-ever Officiating 101 courses in our area. DuQuoin High School – April 27 – 7:00-9:00 p.m. Marion High School – April 28 – 7:00-9:00 p.m. Mt. Vernon High School – April 30 – 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The Officiating 101 course is FREE! There is no advanced registration. Those who are interested can simply show up. IHSA instructor(s) will introduce officiating fundamentals and will explain how to get started. Today's (4/6) softball game has been moved to Hamilton Co, 4:30 start. The baseball game has been cancelled, boys will practice at GHS @ 3:45. Tomorrow (4/7), HS BB/SB will travel to Hardin Co, 4:30 start time.
